A failed writer from Chicago sets out for New York City in a last ditch effort to chase down a phantom deal for his latest play, only to find his desperate mission fatally complicated by his two unstable traveling companions. Johnny Boy is teetering on the brink of madness. A go-nowhere writer whose career is on its last legs, he's convinced that he could finally get the break he needs if he can only get to New York and sell his last play. Unfortunately, Johnny Boy has chosen to bring his sexually self-destructive girlfriend Anita - an aspiring actress - and malevolent drug dealer Aristotle along for the ride as well. Later, after ingesting enough narcotics to knock out an elephant in an attempt to make the trip overnight, Johnny Boy crosses the path of a vicious Southern gangster named Max and the situation explodes into violence. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide
