Totally Entertaining and Moving, Too
I read this book on a plane ride, and it kept me totally engrossed from beginning to end. I'm not an especially religious person myself, but I picked up this book anyway, as it was recommended by Dan Savage, one of my favorite gay writers. Although I'm not religious, I could definitely relate to Brother Vito's quest to reconcile his spiritual nature with his sexual one. The pop culture references and the song lyrics from Madonna and Sinead O'Connor were witty and nicely used, and the romance between Vito and Gabe was believable, moving and sexy, too. These characters stayed with me well after I finished reading, and I hope the author writes a sequel someday.
