Sweet Home Alabama screenwriter C. Jay Cox directs the independent romance Latter Days. Christian (Wesley A. Ramsey) is a young gay party boy who lives in Southern California. When a group of good-looking Mormon missionary guys move into his apartment complex, he's determined to pick one up. He ends up falling for sweet, innocent Mormon Aaron Davis (Steve Sandvoss), who's secretly struggling with his sexuality. Aaron slowly falls for Christian, even though he thinks he's shallow. The romance causes problems in both worlds. Christian tries to develop a conscience and ends up meeting Keith (Erik Palladino), a man dying of AIDS. Aaron has the difficult job of coming out to his mom (Mary Kay Place) and to his fellow missionaries. He comes against harsh criticism from the blatantly homophobic Ryder (Joseph Gordon-Levitt). Latter Days won awards at the Philadelphia Lesbian and Gay Film Festival and L.A. Outfest. ~ Andrea LeVasseur, All Movie Guide

Screw Brokeback Mountain, this is what romance is. What an amazing movie. Superb actors and an excellent story line. What more could you want?

Heartfelt Film Hits Home
Every once in a while a film hits home, and brings out many emotions. This is certainly one of them, and yes, I cried at the end, happy tears, of course. This is a story of love triumphing over ignorance and hate. I actually found myself feeling sorry for Gladys, Aaron's mother, who through her own ignorance, forfeited her relationship with her son because of her religion. Hats off to a great film, and furthermore, a great cast. I have rented it twice now, and will purchase very soon. This one's a keeper!

Supreme Latter Days
This is a story about how love is supremely blind and opposites are really attracked to one another! It is also how a Christain Philosophy can completely and utterly destroy a human life and in the process destroy, a natural made lovebond, forever in this world!! This is a prime example of the bigotry, hate, fear, and loathsome hypocacy, that pervade this well meaning philosophy. Somehow, I do not believe that Christ had this in mind!!!This should be added to your Collection. A CLASSIC FILM W/A ALL TOO POIGNANT MESSAGE!!!

A Must Own DVD-says a Mormon
As a Mormon (LDS), this movie hits home. Some of it is really how the LDS church approaches things and some has artistic license. As a gay man, this is a great story and it is a must own. I am glad he found true hapiness.

One of the best movies I have ever seen
I can't get enough of this movie. I can relate to it so well because no one knows about my sexuality and how hard it is to live in the dark. This movie moves me to tears everytime i watch it.

Wonderfull
I could watch this movie continuously, aside from the very attractive cast, the story is very true to alot of issuses that I have delt with in my own life. Just a truly great film.

Heartfelt
Everyone I know, myself included, fell in love like this just once. in my case, I let him go so he could be married and make his family proud. He always loved me and when he died this fall, I called his home after twenty years apart and spoke to his wife, who said he often spoke of his great friend in Florida. She never met me but knew me by name when i called. This movie is about the love that people let go or keep, depending on the person. It makes me cry every time I see it. This movie makes all other gay movies seem strained and longing for more heart. i was changed by this work of art and will be forever grateful.

Simply Superb
This outstanding movie, held me captivated from the very beginning, words are difficult to describe the emotions of this brilliant film. It shows love really can see far beyond all aspects of life, religion included! This film will make you laugh, smile and cry all @ the same time, ANY romantic heart and soul, with dreams and goals must see/own this fantastic, passionate feel good film.

This was by far the greatest movie I have ever seen. Be sure to watch it with your loved one, I'm sure it will touch you both!

  A reviewer from Pennsylvania
This movie is one of the best I've seen.
The characters are real and did an excellant job with their roles. I think this movie touched a couple a real issue that effect most gays. The fact some gays want a commited relationship and difficulties associated with religious values.

A 5-Star CLASSIC!!!
I cried, almost, during this entire movie! It was so sweet... It actually made me and my ex-boyfriend come closer together and realize that even though he did wrong...we still love each other GREATLY. Seeing how the two characters, though spiritually and morally different, still joined together because they loved each other. LOGO needs to air it more!! 5-STAR!!

Touching and Emotional
this movie is definetly something that hits home for alot of people. My Husband commited suicide at age 19 and the love i had for him is the same love that is shown in the movie. U cant help but love how these 2 guys love eachother and find eachother in love. This is a movie that should be award winning and in every gay mans movie collection! Although the man does not die in the movie His new found true love believes he did. Greatest gay love story i have seen in years!

  Ralph from Houston, TX
I could watch this movie over and over again...
Best movie I've seen so far. I've been trying to find this movie because I've never seen it before, and when I finally saw it, I fell in love with it. I'm ordering one right now. :] A story about a blind romance that was initially nothing at all. Coming to find oneself can be hard, especially if your coming from a religious family. Aaron was just trying to cope in a world where he was allowed to do so little. Great movie [if I haven't mentioned that already.]

When two Extremes Meet.....
The new stereotype gay male: the self absorbed shallow out and proud "pretty boy" meets a dedicated religious self-loathing closeted man and after dramatic self-evaluations the two become a couple that proves we can change and become productive members of our community. This movie reminds us that the gay men need to look deep into ourselves and discover our strengths as well as our weaknesses and to continually improve and become the best we can be to enhance the image of our community and to continue to break down stereotypes.

Touching you deep inside your heart

beutifull!!!
No movie has ever grabbed me emotionally like this one has....you cant help but feel the emotion and feeling between the 2 beutifull men learning about eachother and what true love really is like

Truly one of the great films ever made
Being raised LDS and having went on a mission, this movie really hit home. Truly one of the best films ever! My partner of 10 years finally was able to gain a deeper understanding of how to interact with my LDS family.

  MarvLeeMan from Ohio
Great movie
I can't stop watching this movie whenever I can. Really heartfelt. Wesley was just on CSI,(I think),played a bearded person, murder I think. If only a relationship could be so real. I really enjoy watching it.

I Cried

Mass of Dots...
To me, the most touching and poignant scene of any movie is that between Steve Sandvoss Jacqueline Bisset outside the hospital ... it was absolutely moving for this devout Atheist every time I've seen it [4X].

  A reviewer from UT
It's Not Just Religion
The movie spearheads the LDS Church, but the movie could be about any religion that finds alternative lifestyles abominable, so lets not just pick on the Mormons. The movie actually is a very real account about a party boy who meets his match with a guy raised with strong church values and suppresses his natural desires. I found this movie devoid of exploitation and very sensitive. Watching the guy who thinks sex is nothing more than a "handshake" change his shallow ways via the Mormon missionary and learning to love is touching and poignant. This is probably not a "mainstream" movie due to it's gay theme...and it should be. I'm not gay, but I was moved by it. Live and let live. My only objection to the flick is all the movies on the subject deal with "beautiful people". How about a middle aged gay man or woman? They're out there too. That's my only complaint being a post baby boomer.

Great love story
This is one of my favorite movies. I have watched it many times. I laugh and cry every time. One of the most amazing couples ever.

THE GREATEST MOVIE EVER MADE
This movie was so amazing. It had so many heartful moments in it. The cast was brillant, I couldnt have picked a better person to play Elder and Christian. They made it so believeable that this could really happen in real life. This movie is probably my favorite movie of all time because of the message it sends out to people. Love is unconditional no matter who you are with and no one should ever judge you for who you love. Steve Sandvoss and Wes Ramsey were the perfect on screen couple. This movie really inspired me to relize what is wrong in this world today. GREAT MOVIE!!!

The most amazing tear jerker i've ever seen!!!
This movie stole my heart from beginning to end! It applies to me more than any movie I've ever seen in my life. My boyfriend and I are going through almost the same problems!!! If it were us i would be Christian and he would be Aaron. This movie is my favorite movie of all time!!!
