Danny Robinson's Harlem-based street label Holiday Records was started up in 1956, one of several independent imprints gathered under the umbrella administration of Bobby Robinson, Danny's brother (other Robinson imprints included Red Robin, Fury, Everlast, Fire and Enjoy Records). Drawing almost exclusively on New York's seemingly unlimited supply of local harmony groups, Holiday never blew the national charts up during the label's run, but issued several strong sides by groups like the Ladders ("Counting the Stars") and the Bop-Chords ("So Why"). This ten-song sampler is extremely brief, coming in at just a hair over 25 minutes in length, but at a budget price, it's definitely worth a spin or two. ~ Steve Leggett, All Music Guide
